This work explores emotional paralysis, the state of watching life unfold without the ability to participate. The horse appears as a living ghost, emerging from shadow yet withholding itself from full presence. Movement exists only in the mane, while the body remains still, suspended. Rather than dramatizing sorrow this work leans into restraint allowing quiet observation to carry the emotional weight. The subdued palette and limited contrast invite prolonged looking, asking the viewer to sit with the stillness.
